Ramada by Wyndham Graz

The payment experience was the last straw. The waiter and bartender seemed personally offended when I wanted to pay by card, then turned the terminal away so I couldn't see the amount. What they charged didn't match the menu prices, which felt like an open scam. Parking was empty and the barrier was up, yet it still cost €12 a night. The minibar had one bottle of mineral water for three people, which was ridiculous. We were traveling back from Croatia with family and only needed a basic, clean, functional room for one night. Instead, the room was dirty, with stains on the bathroom floor, and hundreds of dead flies and insects on the windows. The air conditioning is advertised, but it's a myth: the controller seemed to work, yet the AC did nothing. On a day of 25°C or warmer, you'd be done for. Our room was unbearably stuffy. I have never written such a negative review, but I can't understand how this place has four stars or belongs to the Wyndham group. Avoid it at all costs.

Breakfast was a problem too: food was refilled very slowly in the morning, or not at all. I stayed four days, with outside temperatures around 30 degrees, and the AC only made noise without cooling the room. There was no cleaning during my entire stay, not even the trash was taken out. This is not a four-star RAMADA hotel!

The restaurant dinner was nice, and there was a good choice at breakfast. I stayed one night on the way to Croatia. The room was clean and nice, though the bathroom could use renovation. The AC was the main issue: it barely cooled no matter how high I set it. Luckily, it was +23 outside.

I liked the hotel's environmental awareness and how it shares that message with guests. It was a lovely, quiet place to relax, with friendly, helpful staff and delicious food. I also had the gym and sauna all to myself during my stay.
