The quiet setting made it easy to relax, and the rooms were comfortable and nicely done. Check-in and ordering breakfast yourself were both straightforward. There's also a pleasant restaurant attached, with outdoor tables. We'd stay here again on our next holiday in Kantern.

We ended up spending a surprisingly lovely evening at the restaurant. Stefan came over with a warm hello in several languages, then suggested the whole meal. He was funny and easy to talk to, and the portions were generous. Everyone there seemed to get his personal attention. After dinner we walked around the grounds, found a river behind the hotel and cows grazing farther off, and went back to a very comfortable bed. The room had everything we needed. The personal welcome started before we even checked in. Since the hotel uses self check-in, we asked a waiter outside the restaurant how many rooms were free. He was kind and genuine, and helped us reach the owner. With his help we got onto the WiFi, and Shahin arrived within minutes and found us a room. It looked just like the pictures, was very clean, and had clearly been recently updated. Shahin showed us up himself to make sure it met both our expectations and his. Breakfast needs a little planning: place your order online or at the lobby kiosk and get the voucher before midnight, or you won't be served in the morning. We hadn't ordered the night before, so we missed out. The system is meant to give each guest a hot, fresh meal made to order instead of a buffet line. The next morning, after coffee in the room, we took our bags to the car and sat down to say goodbye. Shahin joined us and spent about 30 minutes chatting informally about Austria, healthcare, The United States, the hotel, and our backgrounds. His care felt very personal, and I won't forget it. The whole day seemed to fall into place from the moment we found this lovely little hotel. My only regret is that I said I'd call if we needed another night before heading to Bled, Slovenia. My phone died, so I couldn't let him know we stayed elsewhere the next night. The staff were a real gem, and the place had a clean, homey feel.

I liked how carefully the little details in the room had been considered, and it had everything I needed. The view was good, the staff were friendly, and the service was great.

I don't usually leave reviews, but this place deserves one. Everything feels like it's been done with care. The room was spotless, which matters a lot to me because I'm allergic. It had hot water, heating, WiFi, a comfy bed, and a nice design. Breakfast was good, and the automated setup was convenient. Parking was good too, and the price was very reasonable. It's a little way from town, though I didn't mind that. The fresh air outside was a bonus. If I'm nearby again, I'll definitely stay here.
