Seehotel Frank

I booked three nights through Airbnb, where this was listed as an apartment, but it turned out to be a standard hotel room with self check-in. When I arrived, it hadn't been cleaned, and even the walls looked dirty. They said housekeeping couldn't come until the next day. If I didn't want to sleep in someone else's dirty bed, they said they could add up to €70 for a hotel room. I booked somewhere else for all three nights because I couldn't stay another minute. They understood when I said I wasn't coming back, and said the refund would take 2-3 weeks. I'll see whether it actually arrives. The place looked deserted and unsafe, with nobody at reception, a carpet that seemed not to have been vacuumed in years, and random things like a broken floor lamp in the hallway. The jetty itself was okay, but its steps were falling apart and the algae on top felt disgusting underfoot. I paid €203 for three nights and they're refunding €70, so I lost €133.

Just to clarify my Booking.com review: the “Excellent value for money, ideal for the Harley meeting” comment was about the 2024 price, €408 for four nights. In 2025 the same room during Bike Week is €3360. I can't believe it.

I couldn't quite feel at ease here. The room was clean, and the location was convenient, about a seven-minute walk from town, but there was a really unpleasant smell in the room. The entrance wasn't welcoming either, and some lamps were missing bulbs.

The curtains were torn and let in an annoying amount of light, and the room fridge didn't work, so storing food or drinks was difficult. There wasn't even a basic bar of hand soap in the bathroom. Hotel Frank also felt quite worn overall. When we arrived, reception was empty and messy. We had to ring several times before anyone directed us to a key box. The stay was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend Hotel Frank unless its service and facilities improve significantly.
