Apartment Simmering

Getting around was easy, with strong public transport links and lots of shops close by. The rooms were spacious and clean. There were two bathrooms: a large one with a washing machine but no bidet, plus a tiny one with only a toilet. Cooking was tricky with just two induction burners, though there was a microwave and dishwasher.

The courtyard-facing windows made the apartment unpleasant in summer. Greasy smells came up from the fast-food place, and it was either stuffy with the windows shut or full of that smell with them open. The tiny living-room fan didn't help. There was also ongoing clatter from metal carts on the uneven floor and the restaurant's garbage collection. Inside, the apartment was spacious and modern, but storage was awkward: the corner sofa blocked the wardrobe. The kitchen had very little equipment, no trivet, oven racks, baking trays, or suitable dish. There was a fridge and a basic stovetop at least. The stairwell was supposedly cleaned, but the handrail still had dust stuck to it. A very, very bad stay. You've been warned.

There was no parking at all, not even somewhere to load or unload bags. The apartment was dirty and looked onto the courtyard where McDonald's put its trash, with constant noise from the employees. At times it felt like I'd been sent to Afghanistan!

The apartment was nicely furnished and clean, but finding it was a struggle. Google Maps directions were off for about 500 meters, so I had to ask several businesses for help. There were two addresses with numbers in the 8-series nearby. It would help to have a note saying there's another number in the 8-series across the street.
