Austria Trend Hotel Europa Wien

We arrived at 9 a.m. and our room was already ready. Reception staff were amazing and efficient, and everything went smoothly during the stay. The bathroom was spacious, and the location was right in the heart of Vienna, with everything walkable. One tip: bring your own shampoo and body wash, since the supplied 2-in-1 gel wasn't quite enough.

The location is the hotel's strongest point, and there's complimentary tea and instant coffee in the room. I also found an ironing room and a shoe-polishing machine on my floor, which was a nice surprise. It's clean enough, but feels dated and not quite like a full 4-star hotel. Toiletries are limited, as is the small minibar selection. My lower-floor room faced the main street, so there was noise late into the night, made worse by a window that wouldn't close properly. The beds were okay, though not especially comfortable. They didn't replace the Kleenex after I ran out the next morning, only the following day. For a short stay, the central location may make it worth considering.

I've stayed here several times. Room 306 was a really spacious corner room. The staff are friendly and the location is great, though housekeeping isn't as good as it used to be. It's still one of Vienna's top hotels.

The central location is the only real plus. This worn-out hotel needs a full rebuild. Cupboards are falling apart, carpets are threadbare and bald in places, and street-facing rooms are noisy, with no sound-dampening curtains. There were no slippers or bottled drinking water, and I was told tap water was safe. The bath products were awful for a 4-star hotel. Front desk staff were rude, especially the mature-looking woman, who was no help at all. They should stop taking bookings until it's refurbished. This definitely isn't a four-star hotel.
