Having no staff on site meant we had to call the hotel for nearly every problem, and even reaching the number given for luggage storage took far too much effort. The self check-in process was poor and didn't work properly. Leaving our bags and getting into the room both became a struggle. Our key didn't work, so each time we wanted to enter we had to phone them. We asked for another key card and were told they had none available. There were extra charges too. Although the price was clearly shown as paid in full, including taxes and fees, we were charged again during self check-in for a “tourist fee.” The website said luggage could be left before check-in, but we were still asked to pay to store it. The whole experience was exhausting and frustrating, and felt far from hospitable. This was honestly one of our worst hotel stays. We would never choose it again and can't recommend it.

The staff were quick to respond, helpful, and professional, and sorted things out right away. Our room was clean, modern, and smelled nice. The only issue was mold in the shower corner. At first we had trouble getting into the room, and the Booking information about breakfast being served at a nearby café hadn't been updated. Even so, we were very satisfied with our stay at Black Home in Vienna. Thank you.

The big windows made for a great view and lots of light, and there were vending machines with drinks and snacks downstairs. Being able to store luggage was a big plus. The welcome toiletries were good quality, though it would have been nice if the set included basics like salt, pepper, and oil. The contactless check-in took a few minutes to enter all the details, which was fine. Most of the room was perfectly clean, but there were food bits inside the microwave and dishwasher, plus hand marks on the windows.

The location was handy, with tram and bus stops very close, and breakfast at the nearby partner café was excellent. The woman there was very kind. Our room, though, was cramped. We'd asked for two double beds, but got one bed made up of two mattresses and a sofa bed with a terrible mattress. On our last night, water backed up into all the sinks, the bathroom, and the toilet, so we couldn't use any of it until the plumber arrived. She was three hours late.
