Leonardo Hotel Vienna Schönbrunn

The location was a real plus, near two subway lines and handy for downtown and Schobrunn. We stayed three nights in a cozy, very clean room with good insulation from street noise. The one thing I'd improve is the extra bed: the folding sofa was too thin and hard for our daughter, so another mattress would help.

Breakfast had enough tasty food, with a good choice of hot and cold drinks, including several kinds of latte and hot chocolate. But a piece of rotten red pepper in my mouth spoiled the meal for me. The boiled eggs were hard to peel, and the omelet was cold. I didn't really interact with the breakfast team, but they generally didn't answer my “good morning” or smile. The room was a good size, bright enough, quiet, and had a comfortable bed. The welcoming reception team were helpful. I had to ask for an electric kettle, which arrived the next day. There was only a coffee maker, no variety of capsules or tea, and just two sugar packets and two herbal tea bags for two people staying two nights, with nothing replenished. The bathroom was very clean, and I liked the smell of the liquid soap. It was difficult to get out of its wall dispenser, though, and I didn't like having one product for washing hair, hands, and face. There was a hairdryer and another electrical socket, but no bathrobe or slippers, just four towels and a foot mat.

I spent seven nights here and found the rooms comfortable, clean, and quiet. Breakfast was very good as well. The neighborhood is quiet, and the metro station is directly across the street, making it easy to get around. Most places are reachable in 15-20 minutes.

Getting into town meant taking the U4 each day to Karlsplatz, but it was easy and cost only a couple of euros. The hotel was spotless and well kept, and housekeeping left the room perfectly clean every day. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was very warm inside, a little too warm at times, though it was very cold outside. Hair and body gel was supplied, and snacks were available at the bar. Breakfast leaned continental, with limited hot food, but there was always something good to eat. I thoroughly recommend this lovely, spotless hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
