Grand Hotel Mercure Biedermeier Wien

We were welcomed by friendly, efficient reception staff, and everyone we met was lovely. Breakfast was excellent, with something for everyone, omelettes made to order and even sparkling wine on weekend mornings. Aldi is next door, and it's a 15-minute walk to the main sights. Schonnbrunn is an easy 20-minute subway ride away. The hotel has a charming old-fashioned feel, with Biedermeier decor and a writing desk in our room. It was clean and cozy, and so quiet that I slept soundly. Our bathroom had both a bath and a great shower, and the room had a fridge and a mini kettle with tea, coffee and bottled water. I'd very happily stay again. Thanks to all the lovely staff.

Our family suite was huge, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room, which made traveling together very convenient. We chose the hotel for its location near the train station before an early flight, and that worked out well. The style is older, but the hotel was very clean. The receptionist was incredibly kind and let us into our room well before check-in time. On a rainy Sunday, we found the sauna off when we visited the fitness room. Reception asked what time we'd like to use it and turned it on just for us, a thoughtful gesture. We really appreciated the hospitality and pleasant stay.

The location made both getting to the airport and exploring Vienna easy. Wien Mitte - Landstrasse station is about a five-minute walk away and connects to many metro lines. We also ate at three nearby places, Bella Compagnia Erdbergstraße (see our separate Google review), The Golden Harp, a lovely Irish bar, and Trattoria Pergola. All were excellent and easy to reach on foot. We stayed five nights in this charming building and booked a Privilege Room. It was spacious, very clean, had plenty of storage and, best of all, a super-comfortable bed. The hotel facilities were excellent, and breakfast was first class, with fruit, breads, hot and cold food, good coffee and juices. Everyone we met was friendly, professional and quick to help. A small shower problem was sorted immediately and without hassle. We'd highly recommend the Grand Hotel Biedermeier.

We had a morning flight and picked the Mercure Grand Hotel Biedermeier Wien for its access to direct airport trains and decent social media ratings. Wien Mitte was an easy three-block walk, even with luggage. After our long train ride, friendly staff upgraded our room because we were Accor members. The room was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable bed, pod coffee maker, kettle for instant coffee and tea, and bottles of sparkling and still water. Wi-Fi was solid, and it stayed quiet even with the windows open. A few things were inconvenient: the toilet was in a separate room with no sink, so we had to cross the room to wash our hands. There were no USB ports or outlet beside the bed on the left, so I ran an extension cord to charge one of our phones and watches. Even so, we'd recommend the hotel and stay again on a future Vienna trip.
