The location was the main positive. The tram line is close, and Schottentor is only a few minutes away. After we complained that a drill had damaged our room while we were inside, they moved us; the second room was okay and its bathroom didn't smell bad. Our stay was unpleasant, though. Renovation work was going on in both the building and hotel, which made the building feel unsafe. Construction noise was really loud in the mornings, and our first bathroom smelled awful. We also had no street view. The rooms are quite small, so I wouldn't recommend this place for a big group.

The staff were wonderful, approachable and helpful, and the location made it easy to get to the city center. The rooms, including the bathrooms, are much smaller than they look in the photos. The beds were very uncomfortable, and there was junk underneath them. I'd recommend the place, but with a few cautions.

It's very close to the city center, and they cleaned the room every day. This felt more like a hostel with a private room than a hotel. They even left us little gifts at Christmas, which was lovely. The room is tiny, and slippers would be a good addition. It wasn't worth what we paid, though finding anything cheaper in Vienna is hard.

Hotel Ani, thanks for having us! The receptionist was great and shared lots of useful tips on places to visit and things to see in Vienna. There are good places for food and ice cream nearby, handy for breakfast or an evening snack. A tram stops literally right outside and takes you into the city in a few minutes. It was warm when we visited, so the ceiling fan was a real bonus. We also got keys for the building, so coming and going at any time was hassle-free.
