Everything was clean, and the room’s layout was interesting but practical. Our room had a glorious view, and the staff were okay. Breakfast was nice, with lots to choose from, and it’s a reasonable walk from the train station. The wait staff were very engaging.

The breakfast was the best I’ve had at a hotel, with an incredible range of fresh, delicious dishes. It felt a bit like being on a cruise ship. We also had dinner at Lagana restaurant, where the food was excellent and beautifully presented. Nina deserves a special thank you for being attentive, kind, and so warm. The hotel is ideally placed for exploring town, with gorgeous views all around. Check-in came with a friendly welcome, and our spotless, spacious room fit the three of us comfortably. We appreciated the complimentary bottled water after the drive. Parking was a little tricky to navigate, so 4/5 for that. Everything else was flawless, and breakfast gets 5/5 for flavor. Our stay at the voco IHG Hotel in Austria was wonderful from start to finish. We’ll definitely return!

Breakfast alone earned this hotel our highest rating. It was served in a beautiful, stylish room with a glass wall overlooking the river and Villach’s old town, and the buffet was so varied and generous that we’d never seen anything quite like it, even after dozens of stays in four- and five-star hotels. The view from our higher-floor room over the old town was stunning, and the minibar was included in the rate. Parking in the underground garage gives direct access to the hotel, while the rooms are practical and thoughtfully designed. Add the central location, helpful and friendly staff, and a price that felt fair for the accommodation and service, and we were completely won over. The location is perfect, between the train station and everything downtown. The place was spotless and fragrance-free, and the staff were kind and helpful, always with a smile that made us feel at home. The rooms have all those little extras that make a stay comfortable. I really felt at home here, and we’d definitely come back.
