Hotel Warmbaderhof

The restaurant service was impeccable on both of our stays, and the hotel was clean overall. That was the good part. As a family, though, we felt out of place around the other guests, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here with children. Fellow guests stared at us at breakfast and dinner when our youngest got excited and raised his voice. One guest confronted us over noise at 7 in the morning and after dinner, until 9. The hotel felt like an apartment building with paper-thin walls, and we were on display because we didn’t fit in. We first stayed with our six-month-old. The restaurant service was excellent, and eggs Benedict was available at breakfast then, though not on our return a month later. Housekeeping was unpredictable: the room was turned down only on the first night, and room-service dishes weren’t collected until the next day. The baby cot was very basic and never made up, and although the hotel specifically offered a baby monitor, we never received one. The same problems happened on our second stay. That return visit was over Christmas, with two adults and three children. The cot again wasn’t made up at all, towels piled up in the room each day, and there was no turn-down service beyond a Milka candy on the pillow. Reception couldn’t locate the baby monitor either. We also had trouble getting orthopedic pillows, and the bathroom toiletries were never replenished. The foam mattress topper on the couch bed was too narrow, which wasn’t what we would have paid for if we’d known that’s where the children would sleep. There were no slippers in their sizes. We raised our concerns with reception, but got only a brief apology and the bill at checkout. We stayed twice, but won’t return.
