Kia Ora Hotel Restaurant

The hosts were attentive and friendly, and you can tell they work incredibly hard to make your stay enjoyable. Our clean, comfortable room had a fantastic view. The hotel sits nicely between the two Gondola’s and close to other amenities. Breakfast was great, as were the restaurant and pizzeria.

Best pizza around, in my opinion. You can get it takeaway or eat at the restaurant. :)

Anna & Chris made all six of us feel so welcome. They work unbelievably hard, stayed up late, and were such friendly hosts. We had a wonderful skiing holiday and fully intend to come back. I’m almost reluctant to mention Hotel Kiaora, since it feels like a hidden gem you’d want to keep secret so it won’t be full next time. After a couple of weeks to get past the post-holiday buzz, I can still honestly say this is one of the best hotels or B&Bs we’ve stayed in over decades of skiing, and great value for money. It has a classic Austrian feel, lovely wood-clad rooms, a brilliant restaurant, takeaway pizza and a bar area with fantastic food. Breakfast was wonderful too. It’s well placed for both ski lifts in Wagrain, either by ski bus or a 5-8 minute walk. The boot room and sauna/spa are basic, but more than adequate. My one slight gripe is that breakfast could start earlier, perhaps at 7:30, so guests could catch the first Gondola at 8. We know you work long hours, so maybe a continental self-service option could help. You did try to accommodate us, and even though breakfast officially started at 8, we often got to eat earlier. Thanks again.

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and was nicely decorated. The waiters were friendly and checked how the food was. We were seated quickly and our apple juice and prosciutto cotto pizza arrived after a short wait, probably under 15 minutes. The juice was sweet, just as you’d expect. For 11.5 euro, the pizza was great value: thin, tasty, with chewy ham and a good amount of crust. It could’ve used a proper cutting knife instead of a butter knife, though I’m sure they’d have brought one if I’d asked. Good food and service for a cheap price.
