Our trip started with one problem after another: our flight was cancelled, the rental car place was already closed when we arrived, our luggage was lost for 5 days, and first my Husband and then I got sick. During our 6 day stay at Walchseer Hof, Georg, Maria, Sanja, the two women at breakfast, and Steffan looked after us so well that we felt like family. By the time we left, we felt nursed back to life, and the trip had turned magical. We’re so grateful to everyone at Walchseer Hof. The setting is idyllic, and from our generous patio/balcony we could see the church and mountains. Walchseer Hof partners with another hotel within walking distance, where guests can access the lake and use recreational equipment. We got the peace and quiet of Walchseer Hof along with the amenities of a hotel that’s more like a busy zoo. We rented a boat and had an easy ride across the lake, walked all the way around it, and hired bikes to explore the area. Kufstein, Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Munich are all good options for day trips, and there’s so much to explore. The meals were organic, locally sourced, and prepared with great attention to detail.

The food is great, and it’s 100% organic. From the windows or terrace, you can get a wonderful view toward the Alps at close range, if you’re on the right side. A wonderful place to stay.
