The sauna is warm and there’s a little relaxation room with herbal tea and fruit-infused water. After the heat, stepping out onto the balcony into the cold felt refreshing for both body and mind. There’s a heated pool too, a real blessing in winter. I came all the way from Budapest, taking two trains and two buses through delays, cold and darkness. But when I arrived, I was greeted with a warm smile and a glass of local Prosecco, and the long trip suddenly felt worth it. The staff were kind, easy to talk to, and genuinely interested. As a solo traveler, I really valued the little conversations, shared travel stories, and smiles. I hadn’t planned on staying in Weiden at all. I was going to Vienna until NILS showed up on my booking screen. Seeing the hotel changed my plans, and I canceled Vienna to spend my whole time in Austria at this magical place by the lake. After two hard years of war back home, I felt worn out in both heart and mind. NILS felt like a gentle hand saying, “come rest here.” It was the best decision I could have made for my soul. The hotel’s look is breathtaking, chic, boho, earthy, and natural, with every little detail carefully chosen. My room was cozy and beautiful, and every corner looked like it belonged in a magazine. The mood was peaceful, with total silence, soft light, and that dreamy lakeside feeling. I woke up to a golden sunrise over the lake. Pure magic. Breakfast was one of the healthiest, most thoughtful spreads I’ve had while traveling. There were fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, vegetables, delicious breads, homemade jams, lots of juices, wellness shots, and plant-based milk. I live a healthy lifestyle and love vegan food, so I was truly happy with it, though vegan cheese or tofu would be a lovely addition in future. In the evening, the sunset over the lake was hypnotizing. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel to the water, where you can watch the sky paint itself. When it was time to leave, the hotel arranged a lovely driver who arrived early, was kind and friendly, and got me safely to Vienna Airport. This hotel healed something inside me. It’s a place where I could breathe again. I’d return again and again, even if it meant taking two trains and two buses. And honestly, I’d love to collaborate with the hotel in future. As a model who lives the healthy, mindful, aesthetic, nature-loving lifestyle the hotel represents, I feel deeply connected to what NILS stands for. It would be an honor to be part of its story.
