The room was on the small side, but the price felt fair, especially for Lake Weissensee, which is usually so expensive. From the balcony, the view was wonderful, and the location made it easy to get to the lake. There’s an old wooden jetty and platform with a little house and cabins, plus a boat guests can use for free. We could park in the meadow opposite the entrance. Alpenfriede feels like a step back in time, though Lake Weissensee does that for me anyway, it takes me straight back to childhood. I’d come back if I didn’t already have such a lovely private invitation to Lake Ossiach :-)

We came as a group of 10 people and had a lovely stay. The hotel looks straight out over Lake Weissensee, and the owner was very friendly.

We like staying here in winter, when the south-facing balconies get sun for a long stretch of the day. It’s a tidy bed and breakfast at a reasonable price, with neat rooms, though the shower areas feel a bit cramped. Stefanie is a friendly owner. There’s also a beautiful NEW apartment for 2/4 people available to rent. Great!

My partner and I felt incredibly comfortable here. I’ve stayed in hotels across every category, from 7 stars in Dubai and 6 stars in Malaysia to 5 in Germany, and none were as clean as Alpenfriede. I couldn’t find a speck of dust anywhere I ran my finger. Stefanie does everything herself, a real one-woman show, and it’s incredible. The furniture is old, but looks brand new, and everything works perfectly. Truly amazing. Thanks from Frankfurt!

Breakfast was okay, and the hosts were very friendly. The accommodation was wonderfully located and very clean, with direct access to the lake from the house.
