Haus Waldfriede

I'm going to rate it in two parts. The apartment gets only 3 stars because it's a bit outdated, as Frau Fercher knows herself. Still, it was perfectly adequate for us, and I'll book it again. We had a few wonderfully relaxing days ☀️🏖️ and are already looking forward to next year. The location, cleanliness, hospitality, private bathing jetty, and of course Weissensee and the surrounding area all get 5 stars. You really don't need a car since everything is easy to reach on foot.

We could really unwind here. Some of the things that keep bringing us back: a swim at the little bathing jetty before breakfast, then breakfast in the sun on the balcony, bread delivery, rowing to Ronacherfels (yes, it's doable), hiking routes for every taste, e-MTB rides, renting a cargo bike from Spar-Knaller to carry the shopping, and SUPing to the Tschatschileria for a snack. We also love lounging on the jetty, having fresh Weissensee fish (whitefish) from Neusach for dinner, barbecuing in the garden with friends, and swimming again and again in the crystal-clear water. The apartment is well equipped. The bathroom is dated, but spotlessly clean and absolutely adequate in our view. The hosts are very friendly, and we always felt well looked after and got lots of tips. We'd love to come back ;-)

The location is good, and the landlady was very nice. The room felt quite dated, though, and had a shared bathroom. Even after cleaning, the toilet had an unpleasant smell, and the stairwell smelled of smoke. For an apartment of about 50 square meters, the €60 final cleaning fee is far too high.

At Haus Waldfriede, we felt welcome right away, and the atmosphere is very family-like. Lake Weissensee is a paradise, and this is a lovely spot to unwind or get outdoors. It’s absolutely beautiful here.
