Loved the atmosphere, and the service was sooper. The food was great too.

The setting is beautiful, and the hotel is just as lovely.

We ate at Kellerwirt on three evenings as a couple, trying different dishes each time, and everything was incredibly tasty. The roast pork with bread dumplings and sauerkraut was the best I've ever had, and it was only €9.90. The Aperol Spritz came in a huge glass filled right to the top, a lovely dark orange treat, and at €4.10 it was a bargain too. Even a small "Norgerl" of schnapps costs at least €5.90 in big cities. The service was incredibly friendly. Definitely an insider tip!

The service was very, very friendly and attentive, and I felt a bit sorry for the waitress that evening. The meal, though, left us very disappointed, and we probably won't return. We visited on January 1st, when there was only a buffet because the chef had quit, which by itself wouldn't have been a big deal. But it was €32.50 per person, and our two children, both 14, had to pay full price since the half price applied only to children up to 13. The bill called it a "New Year's Eve buffet," and it tasted as if it had been reheated from the day before. I've had much better food in cafeterias for far less money. When we spoke to the manager, he defended the price by saying it matched the cost of a starter, main course, and dessert, though we hadn't planned to order all three. Even choosing the most expensive option from each of the three courses on the menu would have come to €31.30. Later, instead of coming to the table himself, he sent the waiter to say we could each have a shot on the house if we wanted. No words.
