Haus Fichtenblick

Really great!

The bus stops practically outside, and the slopes are close by. There’s also plenty of parking near the gondola. We were warmly welcomed by our hostess on Christmas Day, then shown our accommodation for the next few days, which we were very happy with. It was cozy and lovely, and we enjoyed the Austrian food. We were even offered a tasty schnapps. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely return.

The apartment is quite basic, but it was adequate. What made the stay uncomfortable was how little privacy we felt we had. The owner seemed to listen in and would come out to talk whenever someone arrived or left, asking what we were doing or had been up to. We also got the impression she was trying to get into our apartment on false pretenses. Maybe others see this as friendly hospitality, and that’s fine, but we didn’t feel at ease. She also made several disparaging remarks about our baby sleeping in our bed and said we were spoiling the baby. I found that extremely intrusive.

Try buying the fresh eggs straight from the farm. We were warmly greeted by a friendly lady, who offered us a “snapsie.”
