Hunter Valley Travellers Rest

I slept really well, and the room was nice overall, with a clean, tidy bathroom. It took me a little while to get used to the lighting since there isn't a ceiling light, but I had a great stay and would recommend it.

We booked six rooms for a big family event. We'd stayed here 18 months earlier, so we chose the motel again, and the room prices were good. This time, though, it was a very disappointing stay and I wouldn't recommend it. The no smoking policy didn't match what we found: four rooms smelled of cigarette smoke, and every fridge smelled bad. The rooms were very dusty, dust came down onto the beds when the fans were switched on, and there was so much behind the beds that my son got hay fever. The air conditioning in room 6 didn't work, so we didn't use that room. A dog in a room opposite barked through the night. We were up at 6:30 and left before checkout time. Booking.com should update its page because the motel is much older than advertised and doesn't look like the listing.

They upgraded our room as soon as we arrived, and the staff were very accommodating. It was a super clean, quiet motel run by a lovely family. Thanks, we'll definitely come back.
