Adelaide International Motel

We booked the spa room about a year ago, but the spa didn’t work. When we raised it, we were told, “it was working last night,” with no apology. We couldn’t find a motor, so I wonder if it had ever worked. We also found a poo and blood stain on the bed linen and had to make them change it, which they did reluctantly. When we asked for a refund because the spa didn’t work, they said we could get our money back if we stayed somewhere else that night. It was 7 pm on a Friday, so there was no chance of finding somewhere else then. The place is on a noisy main road. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it. There are so many better places to stay in Adelaide.

I thought this motel wasn’t bad, which makes it a shame that I won’t be coming back. I work shifts and asked for a two-hour late checkout so I could sleep. They knocked on my door twice because they were worried I wouldn’t pay the $20 fee. I’d been planning to return for at least the next three months, staying at least 14 nights a month, but I don’t want to deal with people like this. UPDATE RESPONSE: Nice try. You don’t get to make up lies and get away with it. I asked a man with a moustache at the desk if I could sleep for two hours before checkout. He nodded to show he understood, but I guess he didn’t. Maybe train your staff better. You think it was okay to rudely knock twice over $20? Do you think I’d fly away with your $20? Because of your rudeness, I checked out ten minutes before the deadline. Since you chase every dollar and dime, maybe you should refund me for those ten minutes. That’s the issue I had with your poor service. The fee was paid. It’s none of your business who paid or how, or what I do or why I stayed at your establishment. Because of your lack of humanity, I drove 2.5 hours while extremely fatigued and having microsleeps, and almost crashed my car. You said you were fully booked. When I left the car park at 10 pm, there were two other cars. When I returned at 9 am, the same two cars were still there. Stop with the lies. Have you no shame? You run such a successful business, yet you thought it was appropriate to treat your guest this way to skimp on $20? Your response is disappointing but not surprising, since it matches how you acted face to face: lacking grace and class. You can’t take the high road when your starting point is in the swamp. I hope others reading this review understand what customer service and decent human behaviour look like, since you seem oblivious to both.

We first stayed here around seven years ago, and this was our second visit. The bathroom looked recently renovated and was spotlessly clean, and we loved the addition of the lift. The rooms are large, the beds are comfortable, and it’s a quiet location with places to eat not far away. If anything, we enjoyed it even more this time. We’ll definitely return next time we’re over in S.A.

They put us up at the last minute and were absolute legends. The staff were friendly, helpful and ultra nice, and our room felt spacious and welcoming. While we waited for a taxi, they were awesome about listening to our chatter. Guaranteed winning accommodation!
