The pool and outdoor area were calm and useful, and the pool was especially welcome in the hot weather. Just outside Mclaren Vale town, this is a distinctive, beautiful place to stay among vines and trees, with a very peaceful feel. Inside, the historic character, especially the leadlight windows, is complemented by the decor, while the kitchen and bathroom have modern conveniences that all work. I'd highly recommend it and hope to visit again next year.

The one thing I missed was a mirror in the bedrooms. With four of us sharing one bathroom, it would have been handy to finish getting ready and do my hair in the bedroom. It was only a small inconvenience, though. We shared the cottage with another couple for a weekend, and the accommodation was beautiful, well equipped with the comforts needed to feel at home. Its location is ideal, within walking distance of some of McLaren Vale’s prettiest wineries and trails. We walked a short part of the Shiraz trail, which was beautiful and easy to reach from the accommodation.

The surroundings and cottages are beautiful, and it's a great place to stay. I wasn't impressed when the owner showed up the next day, banged on the door about guest cars, and then peered inside.

We loved watching the sunset after wandering up to the forest, it was spectacular. The Chapel was spacious, comfortable and clean, with everything we needed to cook for ourselves, and the hosts were very helpful. We appreciated their communication and area guide, and the local guest discounts saved us lots on wine tastings and lunch. It was an easy ten minute drive to gorgeous beaches, wineries, galleries and restaurants, and a beautiful 5 km walk into town along the Shiraz trail. We returned to a Bella Cosa for a second visit, and this stay was fantastic. A stunning place in a fantastic region.

The private pool is the biggest draw for me. Even though McLaren Vale is only about 45 minutes from home, a stay at Bella Cosa feels a world away. This was my second visit to The Chapel, and the kitchen has been upgraded since my first. It's still very well appointed, with high quality appliances, crockery and cutlery. Some reviews mention traffic noise, but I never heard any from The Chapel. I'll definitely be back!
