Comfort Inn Regal Park, North Adelaide

The rooms are older and basic, but neat and tidy. There’s great parking for a large vehicle, and it’s close to cafes, the cinema and the city. I’ve stayed many times because the outdoor parking works well for our large car.

Basil and a band of Sybills manage this superbly located place very well. It’s cheap and cheerful, clean and comfortable, with a few quirks. There are only stairs, which were hard on my knees with a heavy bag, and no one offered to help.

We wanted an overnight place near North Adelaide restaurants, and this looked ideal. We signed up for membership to get a discount, but it wasn’t applied at payment for some reason, so we paid full price. It definitely wasn’t good value. There was a used towel hanging behind the bathroom door, dust and dead bugs on the window sills, and spiders and webs in the bedroom corners. The sofa had an unpleasant stain, the laminate was peeling off the edge of the dining table, and the bin cupboard in the kitchen smelled horrendous. We shut it quickly and didn’t open it again. On the plus side, the shower was hot and the bed was very comfortable. We can’t recommend this place and won’t stay again.

The rooms were budget at best, access was difficult, and there was little information about what to do after hours. We arrived to find a group of guys drinking in the foyer.
