Chittaway Motel

We ended up staying five nights instead of the three we’d booked because our plans kept changing. Christoffer was more than accommodating, and nothing seemed like a problem. After a 12-hour drive, we arrived late on the first night. Some young men upstairs were being loud and swearing, but I emailed reception and it was dealt with straight away. The room had plenty of space, a small balcony for a beer or two, a handy kitchenette and a big shower, though the water pressure could’ve been stronger. Coles, a bakery, bottle shop and takeaway are all a very short walk away. Chittaway Tavern is also a good spot for a meal and an adult drink, with an outdoor play area for the kids. The location, facilities and staff were all great.

This was the best room we’d stayed in since our holiday began. The beds were comfortable, and it had a kitchenette, full linen, and an ensuite with a table and chairs, which we’ve only found in one other place. The service was friendly and awesome. There’s a large shower, plus soap, shampoo and conditioner. Thanks for having us, we’d definitely recommend Chittaway Motel. ❤️🙏

We chose this as a cheaper way to visit the Entrance, and I’d come back at this price. It’s simple and basic, but clean and convenient. Our room was spacious, with a large shower that could comfortably fit two. You can bring your own cot, though they don’t provide extra beds or cots. There’s plenty of parking. The kitchenette had a microwave, basic crockery, toaster, sink and fridge, although the fridge wasn’t very cold. Milk, tea and coffee were supplied. Outside, the balcony looks onto a relaxing bush view. There is a river, but it’s hard to see except from certain rooms. There weren’t balcony chairs, so we carried the room chairs outside. A supermarket and takeaway shops are within walking distance, making it easy to get inexpensive food late at night. A few drawbacks: during our Christmas weekend stay, we only got one set of toiletries for two days. Reception was closed for the holidays, but housekeeping was available and our key was left under the doormat. That didn’t bother us much. Our view faced a cross where someone had died. We got over it, since it wasn’t visible from some angles. The Wi-Fi was a bit unstable, but fine for small things. Some rooms are upstairs and there’s no lift. Accessible rooms are available, so you should probably request one if needed.

For over two years, I stayed here monthly while visiting my elderly father at a nearby nursing home. Chris, the manager, and all the staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for me. The amenities and service were great. The location was fabulous too: a tavern and shopping centre are an easy walk away, Westfields Tuggerah is close, and there’s a bus stop along from the motel.
