Aqua Mist Penthouse

The heating was fantastic, with a gas fireplace and electric panel heaters in all the bedrooms and living areas. Double glazing also helped keep the cold out, and the first level was a comfortable choice for my husband and me, with a queen bed, all the living spaces and a powder room. There were about eight stairs to the entrance, and the powder room meant we could keep our ensuite private when everyone was together. For anyone who has trouble with stairs, this level is the best option. We spent three nights at Aquamist and Seascape with two other adult couples. We were impressed by the comfort, facilities and location. Each couple was happy with their room, though one bedroom was locked and we couldn’t tell whether it had another queen bed or a child’s bed. One couple used the twin room at the back. Having a bathroom each was a real bonus, and we all used the first level for daily living and beach access. It was cold, but we could still walk into Port Fairy and out to the lighthouse. The kitchen had plenty of crockery and cutlery, but the knives and frypans needed updating, as happens in many properties. We found a knife sharpener, which helped with meal prep. Small things, but they matter if you plan to cook. We loved the stay and hope to return with our grandchildren and their parents.
