The apartment was clean and well equipped, but the bunk bedroom was far too small. The bunks made it hard to open most of the wardrobes and drawers, so they couldn’t really be used. I also wouldn’t have booked the penthouse if I’d known the jacuzzi and table and chairs could only be reached through a bedroom. In my opinion, the table and chairs should be on the same level, with separate access to the kitchen and jacuzzi instead of making people walk through someone else’s bedroom.

This was the worst penthouse in town. The spa and gas cooker didn’t work, so we had to go home to cook for our guests, and the TV remote was missing. We were given no compensation. They took an $800 bond and then the host tried to charge us for broken blinds that were already broken. We were there on holiday, not expecting to have to do an entry condition report. The photos were taken before we checked in. There were doona stains, cigarette butts on the rooftop, an unclean dishwasher and bin, and makeup on a clean rolled-up towel. The bathroom had mold, there were black handprints on the ceiling and empty canisters under the sofa. Three chairs were broken, the sofa was wearing off, there were marks on the walls and the cabinets were falling off. None of the amenities worked.

We had a good three-night stay at the Skykline Beachside Penthouse, so be sure to book the right place. Unwind @ Glenelg Skyline Penthouse and the Skykline Beachside Penthouse are both in the same building, but the quality is very different.

The place didn’t feel clean. The couches were old and dirty, and neither the oven nor the main feature, the jacuzzi, worked.
