La Loft Apartments - North Terrace

Kevin and Simon looked after every need during our week-long stay, and we’d happily return. The location is fantastic, with great views, easy access to shops, and lovely restaurants, pubs and parks nearby. Rates weren’t too bad, and there’s lots of space, a full-size kitchen, large fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Linen, cooking and dining items, plus some basic starter supplies, were provided. The spa wasn’t inviting and felt old and outdated. The carpets and curtains need replacing, and the walls need repainting. Thanks, guys! 😊

It’s close to shops and public transport, but I wouldn’t stay here again. The rooms, bathroom, carpet and curtains were very dirty, and there were things left in the fridge from previous guests. The tea and sugar hadn’t been replenished, and there was no WiFi. I had to ask about it, and it was provided two days later. There’s no reception. A salesperson meets you at the Oaks reception, where La Loft is located, but La Loft has no connection to Oaks apart from guests being able to use the pool and gym. Payment is handled in your apartment.

The location of Oaks Embassy is good, which is the only reason I’ve given a star. We booked with La Loft Apartments - North Terrace and searched North Terrace for La Loft, only to learn after calling for directions that our stay was actually in Oaks Embassy. Check-in was confusing too. We weren’t dealt with at the lobby reception desk, but met there by a La Loft representative who took us to the room. There were far too many problems with the room to list, and some make me feel sick just thinking about them. The “cleaners” clearly didn’t know how to clean, and nobody seemed to be checking their work.

The bed and couch both seemed not to have been updated in ten years. The mattress was basic and rock hard, the quilt was only double size on a queen bed, and the couch was uncomfortable. A sofa bed isn’t a comfortable replacement either. We couldn’t do any washing because the machine was missing, and we were told the previous occupant had broken it. We stayed three nights using a Great State voucher. The room seemed clean when we checked in, but the air con vents were absolutely filthy, there were dirty dishes still in the dishwasher, and we found toenail clippings in the bed.
