The location made it easy to visit the McLaren Vale vineyards. In about 10 minutes from the driveway, you could be tasting wine at one of the area’s many wineries, and the host had maps and other useful information. Breakfast was sumptuous, with eggs, sausages, muesli, fresh fruit, toast or other breads, hot coffee and the best tea I’ve ever had. It kept me going for the long haul. After flying in tired, I was glad there was a local pub and pub-grub restaurant about two walking blocks away. The ‘tea house’ isn’t a tea house, lol. The locals go there, and it’s friendly and unpretentious, with chatty people. It was nice to walk to dinner and a beer instead of driving again. The cabin, separate from the house, had lovely rustic charm and was spacious and comfortable, with air conditioning and a television if you wanted it. The queen, or maybe king, bed was so comfortable I wanted to take it home. There was another bed on the upper level, which I assume would suit two couples or a family. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, and the big dog is used to guests. Scratch behind its ears and you’ll be friends for life. The host was incredibly helpful and communicative, checking that things would be ready for my arrival and, after I left, making sure I’d reached my next destination. There’s a good reason this B&B gets awards and great reviews. I only wish I could’ve stayed longer.

The hosts, Richard, Liz and even Flo the dog, were so warm and welcoming. I don’t usually give 5 stars because there’s normally some suggestion to make, but this has to be the best place we’ve stayed so far. We booked it for the rustic feel, which reminded us of the farmhouses we each grew up in. The grounds are well kept, and the pergola and conservatory were well worth the price. The local main street in old Noarlunga, including the pub 😜, is a quick walk away. The only major noise was birds happily chirping in the grounds and trees. Breakfast comes with fruit, muesli, croissants or a fried up breakfast, along with tea and coffee. The cups, decor and other details all have a rustic feel. If you need anything, the hosts are only a few metres away, and you can ring a bell, though you hardly see or hear from them. I’d highly recommend it for a parental getaway or a couples escape.

A lovely breakfast and very welcoming hosts, Flo included. The bed and pillows were super comfy, and the hotel for dinner is close by. Such a relaxing escape. Highly recommend.

Richard and Elizabeth are a lovely couple who make you feel you’re in the right place. It’s cozy, comfortable, beautiful and warm, and the breakfast has delicious food with plenty of choices. The river is very close, and the beach is a 5 minute drive away for a gorgeous walk. I absolutely loved staying here, 10 out of 10. Highly recommended 🌠

A top class breakfast, a clean as a whistle, nice big room with plenty of space to move, and a quiet, comfortable stay. Chris and the dog were great hosts. There’s a hotel five minutes’ walk away for an easy dinner. We’ll be back!
