Finding a suitable meal for our three-year-old, who has multiple allergies, was the hardest part of our Saturday night family dinner for his 16th birthday. The only option offered was a $55 steak from the main menu. We asked staff for help, but they were understandably rushed and sent us back to the menu. The irony was that the steak itself was tough. My wife had also contacted the venue with a question the week before and got no reply. We know busy weekends make it hard to cater for everyone, but better communication or a bit more flexibility for families would have helped. It was a very busy venue, as expected, with a good atmosphere and a great beer selection. The meals took a while, which was understandable in the circumstances. The pork cutlet was delicious and one of the night's highlights.

The food tasted nice and the portions were about right, but the seniors meals had too many carbs and not enough green vegetables. I don't need pumpkin, carrot and potato all on one plate. I eat out a lot, and this is the most expensive seniors meal I've had. I'm not in a hurry to come back.

It's a real shame, because I love the Warradale, but vegetarians and vegans should probably skip it. They do have a vegan sauce for a non-vegetarian or vegan main, but don't get me started on the vegetarian choices on the Seniors Menu. Chefs, please up your game and get into the 21st century. The food is beautiful, portions are worth it, and the staff are always lovely. There's a beer garden for smokers and a separate non-smoking area. It's usually packed, which tells you plenty about the place. My partner and I are from Victoria. We first came with friends a couple of years ago, and now we make it a must whenever we're in Adelaide. It's one of the best pubs we've been to, and it's a shame we only get to visit once a year.

The food was leagues above average pub fare, which made the service even more disappointing. We arrived for an early Friday dinner around 4:30 or 5 and nobody greeted us. We had to go to the bar just to find out where to sit. My partner ordered and got a beeper. When it went off, I went to the food window and saw two mains that weren't ours along with garlic bread, so I took the bread. I wanted to ask someone about our mains, but there was nobody there, and we hadn't realized the beeper would sound again when the mains were ready. I went back to our table. My partner later checked the window and was told our meals had already been taken, though they hadn't. He was confused and tried to find someone we assumed was a manager. By then the beeper sounded again and our mains were at the window. Leaving food at an unattended window where anyone could walk past and contaminate it seemed almost dangerous. It also seemed odd that someone collected our plates as soon as we'd finished, given we had to fetch our own food. We can't see ourselves coming back anytime soon.
