1770 Lagoons Central Apartment Resort

The restaurant was very good, with fresh, tasty seafood, a mean rump and a top-class pork chop. Christmas dinner had everything we could have wanted. We stayed over Christmas 2025 in a first-rate swim-up room by the pool, and the whole visit was wonderful. We think the stay was excellent and will be back.

The staff were lovely, and it was great having access to the pool straight from the room. We enjoyed our three-night stay, but the place is starting to look run down. The pool was very dirty when we arrived and needs a lot of maintenance, with missing tiles and a heavily stained floor. The hotel badly needs painting, especially the room door, which looked very shabby. The pool furniture is also falling apart and needs replacing. If you don’t mind the condition of the place, you’ll enjoy it immensely.

The restaurant was the one bright spot, with great food, drinks and service. The swim-out apartment, though, was disappointing and didn’t seem worth paying more for than a garden or pool view room. The place looked like it had maybe 15 guests, yet we were put in a corner unit by the kids’ play area, where the water was barely knee deep. Hardly what I’d call a swim-out apartment. The swim-area toilets were dirty, the sunbeds were falling apart, and the main spa jets blasted hot water into your face. There was also a hole in the bottom that could cut you or twist your ankle. It all felt very run down and in need of attention. The room wasn’t clean either. There were notes telling guests to wash dishes and clean the apartment before checkout or face an extra charge, yet the shower had mold, the walls and skirting boards were dirty, and the floors were poorly mopped. The mop itself was filthy, and the sinks and dishwasher smelled of mildew. The bed was broken in the middle and uncomfortable, and nobody offered to replace our towels. My honest advice is to save your money and stay somewhere else.

There was black mould growing on our room’s ceiling, along with a roof leak that dripped into the sink and nearly hit me on the head. This is a health and safety issue that needs urgent attention, including mould removal and fixing the leak. The lift smelled like wet carpet, so we had to hold our breath. The stay made us sick and made my MS much worse. My partner also got glass in his foot, so I had to clean the floor properly. I badly wanted to wash the dirty curtains. I couldn’t wait to get home to clean country air and, more importantly, no black mould.
