Split Point Cottages

We stayed in one of the four cottages in a quiet part of Aireys Inlet, and ours was dog friendly with a run along the side. The owner/manager was lovely, brought firewood when he heard it would be cold, and sorted a maintenance problem quickly. The bed seemed to be a double rather than the advertised queen, but that wasn’t a major issue, and there were plenty of blankets. There’s a fan for warm weather, though no air conditioning. Aireys Inlet is a small coastal town, handy for pretty drives and beaches. It worked well as a base for beach trips or a quiet weekend away.

The payment issue after our stay left things on a frustrating note. I’d already paid through a third party days earlier, and although the initial mistake was mine, I asked for the remaining payment to be processed on payday. When that didn’t happen, the matter quickly became one for the police. At Split Point cottages, the well insulated spaces and well stocked kitchen were positives, and our stay itself was fine. The tennis equipment could use an update.

We found it cosy and comfortable, a lovely bush escape by the coast for a couple or a family group. The wood fire was just right in winter, and private BBQ facilities would be great in warmer weather. It’s fully self contained with what you need for a good stay, whether you’re there briefly or for a longer break.

The bush setting was lovely, and we had a great time in the spa. I do enjoy the little extras many Airbnb places have, like a coffee machine and cooking oils, so I noticed those finishing touches weren’t included here. Even so, we’re looking forward to booking Split Point Accom again. I found the master bed a little firm, though my partner didn’t agree.
