49 On Airlie - Airlie Beach

We were eight people and never felt short on space or privacy. The house is huge, spread over three levels, with breathtaking views from every room. It’s modern, tastefully furnished, and the photos don’t really capture how lovely it is. The kitchen was excellent, every room had air conditioning, and the new pool was just the right size. It’s only a few minutes’ walk to town and Airlie’s attractions. Michelle from Whitsundays Holiday Rentals was warm and accommodating. We’ve just come back from three fantastic nights at 49 on Airlie and can’t wait to return.

You can leave the car behind for dinner and drinks, since it’s only a two-minute walk into town. After days out on the reef, fishing, or hiking the Conway Range, the comfy beds are a welcome place to rest. There’s a pool, two spacious decks, a large kitchen, and lovely ocean views. 49 on Airlie has everything we needed for a Whitsunday adventure, and we’ll definitely stay again.

Families or close friends would probably find this place great, but our mixed crew couldn’t sort out the beds comfortably. We were in Airlie Beach Race Week for yacht racing, and sharing a double bed wasn’t acceptable for us. More twin rooms would have helped, since people who want to share could push the beds together. Also, who still has standard double beds? We stayed in winter and there weren’t nearly enough blankets, so most of us were cold on many nights. The view is great, the place is mostly well equipped, and the location is terrific, though climbing the hill after a day of racing was quite a mission. Otherwise, it was a good place.

Being only a few minutes’ walk from the shops for dinner and drinks meant we could leave the car in the garage. The house had plenty of room for everyone to unwind, comfortable beds, a pool, and everything we needed for a self-contained family holiday. That ocean view when you arrive is amazing. We were really happy we chose 49 on Airlie and would highly recommend it for a Whitsunday getaway.
