The pool area and being close to town were the best parts. We had a nice view, the bed was comfortable, and it was handy having laundry in the suite, though someone had left the washer dirty after washing something. The towels could be better, and the bathroom needs a more thorough renovation. A water view from the shower could be lovely, but the room felt dated and rusty. The unit’s glass doors and windows need replacing too. At least our unit didn’t feel like a four star place.

We were thrilled with the stay and had no complaints. The view is amazing and town is very close. Our level one room was clean, quiet and nicely laid out, with good kitchen facilities and direct access to the pools. Both infinity pools were warm and clean, and there was also a shallow pool for little kids and a spa.

You can walk to just about everything from here, and the two waterfall edge pools have great views. Even from our level one apartment by the road, probably one of the worst positions in the complex, we had an amazing view. It was noisy, but with the door closed and air conditioning on, we barely heard it. The rooms are plain but adequate. The kitchen is quite small for an apartment this size, though it did the job. Remember, there’s no servicing for longer stays, so bring toilet paper and any extra laundry, dishwashing, cooking or cleaning supplies. Woolworths is right next door.

The bugs were everywhere, including the floor, kitchen, bathroom and even the bed. They flew around at night and made disturbing noises. I suspect the whole hotel has the problem, since I saw them in the hallway and lobby as well. I’ve never had a worse stay. People mention the view, but that means nothing with a room full of bugs. Thankfully we only booked one night and left early in the morning. I can’t imagine staying another night.

The rooms are big for the money, and we were well looked after by receptionist Michelle and the Maintenance Bloke. They made the stay more enjoyable, and we’d come back. Waters edge resort has a great beach view and is close to what you need in Airlie Beach. There’s a supermarket across the road, plus Bottle O and a chemist, with restaurants and bar n grills on the other side.
