The manager was professional with us, and offered compensation for the first night, which we appreciated. Still, the maintenance and housekeeping teams couldn’t resolve all the issues, and we left with a bitter taste. The place isn’t cheap: the disappointing two-bedroom apartment cost over $700. We booked three rooms in good faith for a special short break with extended family, including relatives from the UK. With the Oaks reputation and what the website showed, we genuinely thought the accommodation would meet the standards it was sold with. Instead, the rooms were dated and poorly maintained, with broken and dirty blinds, loose kitchen cupboards, missing bulbs and more. The one-bedroom room was the best of the three. One group moved rooms to get a decent night’s sleep because their bedroom had no curtain, just voile. Another group had already unpacked before noticing the problems and, since we were there for only two nights, stayed for convenience. Before booking, be aware that the pictures on the website don’t necessarily show what your apartment will look like. You have been warned!
