Corner Hotel Alexandra

More than 15 years ago, Tim & Henri came here, and I visited again today after scattering my dear departed father's ashes at Eildon Private Harbour. I can't believe how much it's changed. The menu, space, decor, art, and ambience are all incredible. Well done, get up here when you can.

The rooms are quite good, and the staff were friendly. There were dining options at the hotel too. The windows need fly screens so guests can get fresh air from outside, and the place could use pest control.

We both sent our plates back completely empty. My husband and I had dinner here on a packed Saturday night, but the service was still good and timely. We loved our meals and agreed it was one of the best dinners out we'd had in a while.

My brother and I both ordered gnocchi, one large for $30 and one smaller for $17, but they looked the same size. The waitress took the bowls back to the kitchen, which we could see from our seats. I watched someone use tongs to move half the gnocchi from one bowl into the other, then put the lesser portion into a very small bowl. When it came back, I complained about how little I'd been given. At first they denied moving half from one bowl to the other, but when we paid, the waitress admitted that was what had happened. The gnocchi was delicious, but the snack-size serving was really disappointing. My local friends and family agreed it wasn't funny at all, even though the kitchen staff seemed to think it was.
