We had a good time at Jump Inn, and the bar was a nice place to relax with a few drinks. The bed was comfortable, especially after a few days camping in swags, and our room was clean. A small bedside table for personal things would have helped. Water from the shower spread across the bathroom and got the toilet area wet, and there weren’t any towel racks or hooks for hanging towels and clothes. Breakfast runs out fast, so try to get there before 8:00-8:30am.

The courtyard has a pool, lots of sheltered open-air seating, and trees that give you a cool place to sit in the heat. The kitchen was well run, and guests followed the rules. I found the staff friendly and courteous from the moment I arrived, and they were always happy to help with questions. The decor is fun and funky. My double room was clean and comfortable, good for a few days, and I never had to wait to use the shared bathroom. A really lovely stay.

The beds are comfy, so it’s a fine place to sleep, but the atmosphere wasn’t what I wanted. I kept going to another hostel in the evenings to socialize. There were no social events while I was there, and the many little booths and tables made it hard to meet people. Big group tables would feel more natural. The attached bar’s beer and food were both very expensive. The beer was good, and I appreciated the bartender’s suggestions and small samples, which helped me spend my money well. The food, though, was so salty it was unappetizing. The girls I had dinner with said theirs was too salty too.

We stopped here before our tour pickup and got a very warm welcome. The room was clean and had AC, which you need in Alice Springs. The pool was great for cooling off, with shaded seats around it. The kitchen was clean, and there was room in the fridge for everyone’s food. There was also a communal box, probably for leftovers.

The bar and restaurant were really nice, and we enjoyed the pool. We could leave our luggage there free of charge while we went on tours, which was great. I liked the first floor room, which was new and very clean. I also stayed in a second floor room where the toilet was dirty. The kitchen closes at night, which made it really hard to fit meals and food prep around our travel schedule. I think that could be changed. We enjoyed our stay anyway.
