City Centre Motel Armidale

The King Suite with Kitchenette was newly renovated and very impressive. It had a comfortable king bed, an armchair, side table, and kitchenette with a sink, coffee machine, microwave, toaster, and kettle. There was a huge flat-screen TV and plenty of tea and coffee sachets. The ensuite was spacious, with a large shower and toilet, excellent water pressure, a hair-dryer, and makeup wipes. Plenty of lighting too. At check-in, the staff member was professional, friendly, and welcoming. Reception also sells quick breakfast packs with granola, milk, apple juice, and a small fruit cup, handy if you’re in a hurry. My room was opposite the shared lounge, which other guests used for about 20 minutes during my one-night stay. It’s a good spot to read or work on a laptop. I travel to Armidale quite often for wedding makeup and hairstyling and have tried a few places. Country Comfort is my new favourite, and I’ll book again on my next visit.

Even though the road gets plenty of use and there’s a top restaurant next door, the room was quiet, and the air conditioning worked strongly. The new king suite building has a spacious, beautifully appointed room with a very comfortable king bed, lounge, and table and chairs. T2 tea, gourmet cookies, and real fresh milk were lovely touches.

Peter greeted us warmly when we arrived and suggested a great place for a child-friendly meal. We’ll certainly stay again next time we’re passing through. Our recently renovated twin room was spacious enough for the whole family and nicely styled, with a kitchenette, blackout blinds, a large smart TV, and USB outlets. The make-up wipes in the bathroom earned bonus points from my wife. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was friendly and fantastic.

There’s free parking on site, but when the hotel is busy it can be tricky to fit a large car into a bay. Staff are friendly and helpful, and calling the hotel directly may get you a good deal. The location near Central Park makes it convenient for the city and restaurants, though breakfast isn’t provided, so you’ll need to go to a nearby cafe or restaurant. Wi-Fi is free, but we didn’t always find it easy to connect. The rooms are reasonably large and can sleep up to four, which is handy for families. They have a microwave, toaster, large fridge, and kettle. The rooms with kitchenettes are on the second floor, with no lift access. It seems popular with visitors to Armidale.
