12th Tee Bed and Breakfast

We booked for one night, my husband is a disabled military veteran and we both use power wheelchairs. I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with the owner asking the right questions about whether the room was suitable, only to find when we arrived that our chairs couldn’t fit because of the furniture placement and tight turns. It was extremely disappointing. We had to accept another room at their other hotel, with two king size single beds, because there was nowhere else available. It’s a pity the staff or owners didn’t know the property well enough to give us accurate information. It certainly made for an unpleasant experience.

We stopped here overnight on the way back to Brisbane, and Mel and Grant made us feel very welcome. Mel’s communication was warm, too. The living area opened onto a lovely patio and garden, where we had tea and breakfast before getting back on the road. They’d left plenty of milk and a small juice, with a coffee maker and tea supplies. The TV was a decent size and worked well. The room felt very clean and comfortable, with a spacious bedroom, a comfortable king bed and a spotless, roomy bathroom. Definitely recommend it for a Bargara stay or a stop while passing through.

The room itself was terrific, but I was pretty annoyed and disappointed to learn the pool was only for one room. The website and Booking.com said it was available to all guests. We chose this room hoping to swim and cool off after our adventures.

We spent Christmas Eve through Boxing Day in the West 2 room, and it was a lovely stay. The compact space is clearly designed with pets in mind, from the paw prints by the entrance to the food and water bowls in the main room. Those concrete floors are genius for pet owners. There’s a simple but useful half kitchen with a microwave, fridge and sink for storing and reheating leftovers. The room has good ventilation, and it’s about a five minute walk to the beach. As a writer, I did miss having a desk, though.
