We spent three nights at Jacaranda at Barranca in early January with our kids, aged 12 and 14, and were very happy with the stay. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and we enjoyed the walks, animals, and time to simply relax. Our two rooms were roomy and comfortable, the living area was lovely, and the kitchen was excellent. Everything felt top quality, and the staff were so friendly. A magical place, and an easy five stars from us.
The river trek was a highlight, with plenty of splashing and playing once we got there, and the views were amazing. We also loved meeting Stormy George, Clover, Queenie. Mark and Kerry made us feel so welcome, and were kind and knowledgeable hosts. The kids, grandparents, and everyone else had a fantastic time at Barranca in Kangaroo Valley.
The farm was stunningly peaceful, and eating around the fire pit made it feel even more special. My little kids had a great time running around and feeding the Shire horses. Mark and Kerry were so kind, and told us all about the farm and its animals. Jacaranda really felt like heaven on earth. We'd definitely go back.
The kids loved feeding the horses, donkeys, and pigs, and Doug was so friendly and informative with them. That ended up being the best part of their stay. We celebrated my husband's 40th at barranca, and they helped me arrange balloons and a cake for our arrival, which made it extra special. The jacaranda villa was spotless and tidy, felt luxurious, and had everything we needed. The view was breathtaking. We had an exceptional stay and will definitely be back. Five stars for sure.
The animals made the early start worthwhile: our two young kids even got up for the 8am feeding of the seven “locals”, the horses, pony, and donkeys. Thanks to Mark and Kerrie for the warm welcome and helping us meet them. We were glad we made the trip to Barranca. There was fresh air, beautiful open space, and plenty of wildlife, including roos, wallaroos, wombats, echidnas, and birds. It was exactly the peaceful break we needed, and the tranquility starts as soon as you turn onto Bunkers Hill Rd. The accommodation was superb, spacious, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen was easy to use and well equipped, and the basic supplies came in handy, especially the fresh sour dough loaf. We also picked up everything we needed for our three-night stay at the General Store in Kangaroo Valley town, an easy 15-minute drive.
