I’ve been here for 3 1/2 months and really love it. The place feels familiar, almost like one big family, and the indoor and outdoor chill areas and pool are great spots to relax and spend time with people. Everything is clean, and the curtains around the beds make them feel like your own private space. Big thanks to the receptionists, especially Jaci and Cami, who are always friendly and helpful and make an effort to keep everyone comfortable. If I’m back in Cairns, I’ll definitely return.

Mummas hostel is small, clean, and has a quiet time after 10pm. The garden and pool are lovely places to unwind and meet people, and the curtains around each dorm bed give you some privacy. The staff make you feel at home. I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it. For me, it’s easily the best hostel in Cairns, and Australia.

The friendly, social atmosphere and excellent location made this a great stay, with everything in Cairns close by. The hostel was kept clean, and having fresh towels provided added to the comfort. Free breakfast each morning was a nice bonus. Thomas, the hostel manager, deserves a special mention for being so welcoming and helpful. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Cairns.

Camille at reception was there whenever I needed help and made sure things went beyond what I expected. The price was much lower than I thought it would be, and towels are complimentary too. Breakfast is bread, spreads and cereal, with a kitchen open for cooking your own food. The staff, rooms, showers and general atmosphere were all great, with plenty of smiles and a real willingness to help. Probably the best hostel I stayed at on my Australia trip. Go there!

I found the atmosphere really welcoming, and the staff were friendly and caring toward guests. The rooms are clean and people are respectful, so it’s comfortable both for staying and meeting others. I had a great time at Mumma’s Hostel and would definitely recommend it.
