The park’s setting is a real plus: there’s wildlife wandering around, and the beach and shops are close by. Food trucks and plenty for the kids to do helped too, and the facilities look new and modern. But during our four-day Australia Day long-weekend stay, it didn’t seem like any cleaners were on site. The bins were overflowing, tables hadn’t been wiped or looked after, and the toilets and showers were pretty disgusting. With that many people staying there, the cleaning needs to keep up.

The kids loved the pillow jump, playground, movie area, and pool, and the beach was easy to get to. Our room was clean, and the wooden floors were a nice touch. Wi-Fi worked, though there was no Optus mobile coverage. I’d call it 3.5 stars. We were there over Christmas and wished there had been a few more seasonal activities, maybe yoga, a dance party, or festive events. There was no BBQ, nor an outlet on the deck for our own, and the kitchen had very few utensils. The bathroom ceiling had mould and neither the bathroom nor toilet had a lock. The fridge also felt small for a three-bedroom cabin. It was a pleasant family stay in a great spot by the beach, but those few issues and some extra activities would have made it better.

This place suited us so well that I’d give it 6 out of 5 if I could. The beach was empty, roos and ducks were everywhere, and there were long walks to enjoy. The kids had a great time. It’s out of the way with no mobile coverage, which some negative reviews mention, but that was a plus for me. The cabins were so new I could smell the paint. If you really want to get away for a bit, this fits the bill.

The sites across the river are dated and could use a refurbishment. Around the pool, though, a lot of the cabins have been redone recently, and the facilities, including the kitchen, are brand new. The pool is great, and the waterside they’ve added is a hit with kids of all ages. It’s a really kid-friendly holiday camp. The new game room, basketball and tennis courts, and mini-golf were all free. Just ask reception for a ball and clubs.

The location has potential, but the service overshadowed it for us. When we needed help during our stay, our concerns weren’t handled with much care. Staff seemed abrupt and uninterested instead of listening and dealing with things professionally. We also found the welcome cold. The staff came across as rude and dismissive from arrival, and we felt more like an inconvenience than valued guests. Friendly communication and basic guidance were missing. The whole experience was very disappointing, and we left unlikely to return.
