Beachport Motor Inn

The location is excellent, so close to the beach and shops. Mr. Wang ( not the manager) and Anita were both very helpful and friendly. The beds were okay and the AC worked. The big fridge and freezer were much appreciated in the warm weather, and the hot water and shower were great. There was a lot that needs attention, though. The bath clearly hadn’t been renovated in a long time, and the fly screen was in poor shape. The stovetop still had burnt food on it, and its knobs were sticky and badly needed a proper hot clean. Cupboard doors were barely hanging on, and the dining chairs looked like they might collapse. Management should get a handyman in for repairs. There was no body wash, and when I asked, Mr. Wang brought me a Head and Shoulders shampoo to use in the dispensers. I hoped that wasn’t what they normally filled them with, so I bought my own. The TV wasn’t working, and it definitely wasn’t big. It was AO time, so I wanted to watch some games. Mr. Wang kindly brought another one, but we couldn’t get that working either. I’ve never had so many power outages in just a few days. We also couldn’t park in front of the apartment because that area was blocked off for staff, so we parked 3 spaces down. An interesting setup.

Really good value, and right in the middle of everything Beachport has to offer. The beds were cheap, clean and comfy. A couple of little upkeep issues: the shower head leaked and sprayed water, and the kettle wouldn’t switch itself off after boiling. Otherwise, it was perfect.

My son and I were travelling by motorbike, and the landlords kindly let us check out late while we waited for the gale to pass. Recommended. It’s always a good stay here, though the pub next door is a bit too close for comfort :)

It’s an older motel and could use some paint and more modern furniture, but it’s great value for money. Our air conditioner wasn’t working, so the manager left us a heater. Thanks for that.
