We loved having our fur baby along, and winter was a lovely time to visit. It was cold, but having a fire pit at our site made it easy to relax and keep warm. We had a powered slab site with plenty of room and all the services we needed. A staff member showed us to the site and helped us back in, which was great service and saved arguments. The park is immaculately maintained, with lovely lake views, open grassy areas and all the amenities needed for a good stay. Everything in the lovely town of Beechworth is within walking distance, and there’s plenty to explore in the countryside, including local cafes, breweries, pubs and the famous Beechworth bakery. There are also local attractions and history to look into, plus lots of walking and bike tracks. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope to return one day. If you’re considering Beechworth Lake Sambell Caravan park, you’ll have a great stay.

Staff went above and beyond, even helping my young son dig for worms to fish, and they knew just how to suggest filling our time locally. I haven’t stayed at a caravan park with such attentive staff. It’s one of our favourite parks in north east Victoria and well worth the trip. The park is fabulous, the amenities spotless, and the location is great, within walking distance of Beechworth township and surrounded by beautiful walking and riding tracks. We’ll be back, highly recommend.

The lake views are breathtaking, and the fresh air feels incredible. Cabins are well looked after, and it’s great that some welcome pets. I’ve stayed in caravan parks all across Australia, and this one is among the best. The park, bathrooms and showers were spotless, and I especially liked the quality of the linens.

The location is great, the bird life is amazing, and the staff were great. Sharon in the office was friendly and very helpful. The camp kitchen and laundry were clean and useful too. A wash load cost $4 and the dryer was $3, which was great. There’s a good playground with a putt-putt course, swings and a BBQ area. Canoes were available to hire, though at $45 that was a bit steep for us. We stayed four nights in the overflow area called the “grassy upper hill.” It was peaceful in one way, but had no power or toilet block and was the main walk through for everyone and their dogs, busy at all hours. Nearly everyone walking through or staying there let their dogs off leash, so keep that in mind if you stay in that section. For us, the single main amenities block serving the whole park was a long walk from the hill. There were other toilets by the lake, but they seemed straight out of the 1950s, with no roof and half doors. There was also just one dump point beside the amenities block. The ladies’ toilet hand dryers were both out of order, with no paper towels, so we had to leave with wet hands. The shower stalls and toilets were small, built many years ago, and the water temperature was temperamental at best, though everything was very clean. It was a nice place to stay, but it needs updating. All the best to the owners, managers and staff.

The site was great, with easy access to exceptionally clean amenities. We were welcomed warmly, and the help backing onto our site made a lovely first impression. Staff were friendly throughout. It’s close to town by car, or an easy stroll around the lake. Highly recommend.
