Ramada Encore by Wyndham Belconnen Canberra

The staff were helpful and respectful, and I found plenty of food outlets within walking distance, so I chose those over room service. I spent four nights here and was comfortable and warm. The bed was good, and the hot water was nice and hot. I’d happily stay again when I’m back in this part of the world.

Good value and a wonderful place to stay. Just be aware there’s no lift, so if you get an upstairs room, you’ll have to carry your luggage up the stairs. That can be pretty unpleasant when you’re tired.

The rooms feel a little dated, but the bed and in-room amenities are more like what you’d expect from a four-star hotel, and the A/C worked well. It’s not luxurious, but it’s certainly not a one-to-three-star place either. A solid option if you’re passing through for a night or two. I enjoyed my stay.

We left our brand-new sandals in the bathroom after a two-night stay and realized it when checking out. We contacted the hotel straight away and even went back in person, but the receptionist said the cleaner hadn’t found anything. We’re sure the sandals were left there, and it’s alarming that they’re now missing. Even though they were “just sandals,” it makes us wonder what else could go missing when staff have access to rooms. We didn’t feel safe or able to trust the staff after this, and our trust in the hotel is completely gone. We can’t recommend staying here until management improves its procedures and addresses staff trustworthiness. Our room also wasn’t properly cleaned on the second day. The towels were changed, but nothing else was cleaned. Someone had entered the room but hadn’t finished the job, which raised serious concerns for us about staff integrity.
