Bellbrae Motel

The room was comfortable and had a nice view, so our stay at Bellbrae Motel was pleasant. The bathroom could’ve been cleaned better, though, and we spotted a spider, which put us off a bit. More attention to the washrooms would make this a much better stay.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were really clean. From the window we watched tiny birds in the shrubs and a family of Hares grazing and playing across the light bush and paddock. A highly recommended place to get away from the crows in Anglesea.

Lovely staff, a comfy, neatly made bed, plenty of room for bags, and a good place to park, though there’s no space for trailers. We booked at the last minute and were lucky to get the last room. The lush gardens were lovely to look at in the morning, and the fridge was clean. I was also glad there were no leaks during the big storm. There were a couple of things left by previous guests, including a hair tie in the shower and a smart watch. The decor could use freshening up, and some corners and other spots needed more attention with cleaning.

It’s basic accommodation, but has what you need for a comfortable stay, including fast free Wi-Fi. We loved the rustic charm and history, as well as the beautiful view from the window. The spot is peaceful and cozy near Torquay. The beds were very comfortable, the newer split system and heater kept us warm on a cold winter night, and the shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. The woman at reception was lovely. We’ll definitely stay again.
