The room was clean and had good, new amenities, and the bar fridge prices were very reasonable. It’s a good place to stay for work or a visit to Bendigo. The only thing missing was some cutlery: if you want butter on toast in your room in the morning, there’s no butter knife or forks. Apart from that, very good.

I was across the road at the conference centre, so the location worked really well, and town was just a quick drive away if I needed anything else. I didn’t need breakfast, but they offer it, which is a great bonus. Motels don’t seem to do that anymore. The motel is brilliantly run, and the staff are great. My room was sparkling clean, which is a real step up from the usual minimum of just being 'tidy'.

We stayed in Room 8 for a wedding at the Conservatory across the road, and the stay was more than I expected. The room was spacious, clean, well-appointed and spotless, with a very comfortable bed and not a thing out of place. Check-in was quick and seamless, and the host was friendly and accommodating. The Golden Reef Motor Inn provided outstanding service. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will definitely return.
