Quality Hotel Lakeside

The location was just right, across from the lake and a short walk from Bendigo’s noisy central area. We had a lovely, huge room with a decent balcony and all the usual inclusions. The bottled water costs extra, but it’s clearly labeled, so there was no surprise charge. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy, and the staff were friendly and professional. Being right by the lake made for a perfect early morning walk before we left.

I noticed an odour in the room that reminded me of cigarette smoke embedded in the walls. The venue is now non-smoking and the room had been refurbished, but the smell was still noticeable to me. It might have come from something else with a similar smell.

We’ve eaten at the Lakeside restaurant several times and the food has always been delicious and high quality. There’s a big menu selection, and the kids’ meals are huge. The buffet breakfast is good value, with lots to choose from, and the staff provide great service.

We had a great stay, thanks to all the staff. They were lovely and friendly, and our large room was very comfortable with a great view. Lake Weerona is right across the road, and the centre of Bendigo is an easy walk away. The tram access was good, though the tram was being refurbished during our week. There’s also a bus stop outside, which we didn’t use. We could walk to many town attractions, and breakfast offered plenty of choice for a fixed price.
