The vibe was friendly, and it’s a lovely spot with great views. Drinks are pricey, and ordering the meal was a bit convoluted. My partner enjoyed the parmi, but my calamari didn’t work for me. The squid rings were wafer thin and overcooked, so all I could taste was the batter.

I hadn’t been here in 50 years, and the change from the old grotty pub is astonishing. It’s been transformed, and I love it. We had a sunny, relaxed Sunday lunch, with simple food done well: oysters, grilled fish and focaccia. The ocean view was unbeatable.

The room had everything we needed, and the bathroom was stunning and suited the age of the hotel. Staff were really helpful, including showing us to our room. The bistro is well worth a visit too.

We ate at the hotel and were impressed by both the food and the service. The location was fantastic, and the chef clearly knows how to handle Asian flavours. The crudo, papaya salad and crab pasta were all excellent. We’ll come back next time we’re travelling through.

The people here are the reason we keep coming back. Every member of staff is amazing. We have dinner here a couple of times each January while visiting, and also meet up for lunch with lots of friends and family. The pub is incredible. It donated two $250 vouchers for The Song For Bob at Murrah Hall, supporting suicide prevention, and I was very blessed to win this generous prize. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please support this wonderful, generous business.
