Chalets at Blackheath

At night the stars take over, and the thoughtfully prepared fire pit packs, with wine, cheese boards, and marshmallows, make it easy to stay outside a little longer under the huge sky. The staff were attentive without hovering. As a solo female traveller, I appreciated their trek suggestions and local knowledge, and felt supported while still free to explore. Even breakfast had indigenous bush flavours, presented thoughtfully and without fuss. So many small details felt considered: the pottery teacups, earthen marble tiles, hand-picked bush flowers in simple vessels, a chair just right for curling up, a blanket to snuggle under, and a lantern ready for an evening walk at dusk. Blackheath has made a rare kind of luxury that adds to the landscape instead of competing with it. This was more than a beautiful stay, it was a sensory experience. I left feeling grounded, restored, and quietly expanded.

We went for two nights recently, and the mountains were at their peak. There was some mist and rain for the mood, and some sunshine to enjoy the clean air. Each Chalet is private, spacious, and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive but discreet. Chalets is an exceptional place, and we had a wonderful experience.

What made this place stand out most was the staff. Sean and Michael were especially professional and personable, and clearly cared about making our stay memorable. They thought of even the smallest details. A month after our visit, I messaged to ask again about some of the aboriginal breakfast food they had available, and they cheerfully replied with thorough, delightful facts. We bring up this hotel whenever we get the chance. The accommodations were unbelievably wonderful, and the location was incredible, right by what felt like the coolest trail system in the world. We had an incredible stay. The staff were attentive and helped with everything we needed, from booking restaurants to pointing us toward the amazing walks around Blackheath. There was even a bottle of champagne waiting in our room when we arrived, a lovely surprise for my husband's birthday. We enjoyed using the e-bikes too. Just one of the most beautiful stays.
