Kyah Hotel

The staff were all really friendly, and it was an easy drive to plenty of spots in the mountains. There’s lots to enjoy on site, and access to Blaq was fantastic. For the price, I can’t think of much more I’d want. Such a charming place, and we’ll almost definitely stay again.

The staff made our stay especially memorable. Jojo and Jessica were so kind and welcoming, with great menu suggestions, local knowledge and a good sense of humour. Thanks to Jojo's wife for the excellent cookies, and to Jessica for the best cocktail my partner’s ever had. We also loved the outdoor hot tub, games rooms and hot pink tennis court. Breakfast muffins and toasties were delicious, and hiring an electric bike made it easy to ride out to the best lookout points around Blackheath. The grounds are beautiful, the room was cosy and the beds comfortable. Check-in was easy, and the quirky amenities were just right. We stayed a few nights and loved it.

The rooms need a proper clean. There were 12 dead flies on the windowsill and a blood stain on the pillow. The pillows were horrendously uncomfortable, and the hand wash and body wash seemed nearly empty and watered down to make them last. The arcade and hot tub are nice touches, and the venue looks appealing. Staff were friendly when we arrived, but a woman on the phone was rude when I called to confirm check-in details.

Jennifer at Kyah was especially caring after my girlfriend and I had a paddle bike accident on the way to a nearby lookout. We both fell, needed hospital attention, then came back shaken and exhausted. Jennifer brought us food, checked on us and made sure we had what we needed while we recovered. Her warmth made a hard moment much easier. We’d come to the Blue Mountains to celebrate our first year together, expecting a relaxing weekend. The accident changed that, but the whole Kyah team supported us so kindly. We’re grateful for how they treated us and won’t forget it.
