BIG4 Mackay Blacks Beach Holiday Park

The owners really helped us out when we needed somewhere at the last minute. They found us a spot and even reduced the night's charge after hearing we hadn't received a refund from Central Tourist Park. The setting is outstanding and has a lovely feel as soon as you arrive. The facilities and pool were absolutely perfect. I can't say enough good things about the owners or the park. Thank you so much.

The welcome at reception was warm, and the park has good-sized sites, sealed roads, strong water pressure, and reliable TV and mobile reception. It's right by the beach in a quiet residential area, with great fishing from shore when the fish are biting. The amenities are clean and adequate, though sometimes they aren't, and the rain shower heads are great. My one real concern is kids riding bikes and scooters along the roads at night in very poor light. Some parents don't seem to care, and an older person could get seriously hurt. The park should stop this after dark. I still highly recommend the place.

From the beach end there's a beautiful view across to the nearby islands. The caravan park itself is clean, tidy, and well run, with friendly, experienced staff. Great location.

We really enjoyed our stay. The pool is a ripper, and the kids loved the splash pool too. The park is laid out well and kept in great shape. Once the maintenance man heard which site we'd be on, he blew the dust off the concrete pad for us. The office ladies also got us the site we'd wanted, which worked out perfectly. The amenities block was regularly cleaned and clearly well looked after. Best of all, we asked if my son's family, his wife and two boys aged 11 and 9, could come over for a visit. They said of course, as long as the kids behaved. And the pool!
